Luxury Cruising’s Most Awarded but Best Kept Secret

We have just spent the day on-board Crystal Serenity, a 6-star ocean cruising ship. There is only really one word to describe our feelings toward the experience – Wow.

Why I hear you say?

Crystal are the most awarded luxury cruise line in the world and have been in business for over 27 years. They know what they are doing and most importantly they do everything well. More surprisingly however is the price. The difference in price for a couple of 2 aboard this 6-star cruiser compared to that of the 4/5-star cruise doesn’t have to be that significant.

All Crystal cruises whether it is ocean, river or yacht are all inclusive of – food, drinks, tips, wi-fi, one-night speciality dining per restaurant on-board and all your excursions. In our professional experience – the initial price may be a little extra, but you won’t end up with a $1000 on-board account to clear.

With the spa, casino and on-board shops being the only main additional costs, you really don’t have to worry about how much you will end up spending on-board a truly beautiful ship with a diverse and incredibly skilled staff.

Now to our time on the Serenity.

This ship was outstanding. As you can see in our pictures above the ship radiates relaxed elegance and style. The most surprising part of the day was that despite the standard of the ship it is going for a huge refurbishment in October/November 2018 to further enhance your experience. Based on what we saw today we really can’t wait to see how it’s possible to do that.

We had a full tour of the ship and one thing was hugely clear. The ship is so comfortable and spacious. Corridors are wide, seats are soft, and nothing seems to be a hassle. The staff are an asset and combining the ship and the people working on it is no surprise the accolades Crystal has been awarded.

The food was another stand out experience. It was beautiful. Lobster spring rolls, a beef main and a chocolate mousse dessert can all be seen in our pictures. Unfortunately, the risotto looked so good taking a picture was only remembered when it was finished…
